Dear friends;
We will be welcoming you to in-person worship at Calvary!
Now, this does not mean that it is going to be a blanket free-for all. We are still facing serious threat from the possibility of catching the Covid-19 virus, so the Re-Opening Team has developed these procedures and guidelines to be able to as safely as possible re-open, while meeting CDC and state guidelines for best social distance and hygenic practices. As always, if you do NOT feel comfortable coming, worship will be broadcast live via Zoom on our usual link and phone number, as below.
Church will begin at 9 a.m. - you may begin lining up at 8:40 for entry.
To enter the church, you may begin lining up along the EAST side of the building, up the handicapped ramp. There will be social distancing marks on the sidewalk to keep 6’ apart.
Upon entry, you’ll have your temperature taken. Anyone with a temperature over 100 degrees will be sent home.
You’ll also be asked a series of questions about how you’re feeling, and any potential exposure to the virus.
Once inside, you’ll be directed to a seat. Please ONLY sit where there is a blue tape marking on the pew. Couples may sit together, as may families with children.
PROPER MASK USE WILL BE REQUIRED AT ALL TIMES. That includes covering your nose.
The offering plate is at the back of the church. Please put your offering in on the way to your seat, or in the plate on your way out at the end of service. We will not be coming forward for the offering as we are used to doing.
This particular Sunday is Communion, each person will be given a pre-packaged communion service for the appropriate time, and there will be a lesson on how to open it.
The rest rooms in the narthex are open for use, but please, only one person at a time.
The rest of the building (Upstairs offices, library, fellowship hall and downstairs classrooms and kitchen) are off-limits for the time being (except for staff). This is to limit cleaning.
At the end of worship, you’ll be dismissed one pew at a time, please maintain social distancing. The pastor will greet you (safely) outside, weather permitting.
PROPER MASK USE WILL BE REQUIRED AT ALL TIMES.
You’ll notice that all the bibles, hymnals, pencils, tissues and other things in the pews have been removed. You’ll have a worship bulletin that will have everything you need in it. Please take these with you when you leave. At the end of worship, wipes will be provided for you to wipe down where you’ve been sitting…this will help with the cleaning process.
We know this is not the way we want to be able to gather, but our greatest concern is for your safety. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact our church at 708-748-6261
With some patience, flexibility, and good spirit, we will be happy to gather again for worship.
- The Re-Opening Team
